Barbados Government Minister, Hon. Chris Sinckler

ST GEORGE’S, Grenada, March 2, 2009 – Barbados Government Minister, Hon. Chris Sinckler is calling for major reforms of local and regional economies in response to the global economic crisis.

 

Speaking at the Convention of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) on Sunday, Mr. Sinckler said that it can’t be business as usual warning that “we have, as a matter of course, to engage in major reforms of our local and regional economies”. Mr. Sinckler, who was the guest speaker, told hundreds of delegates and party supporters that “you are not in this alone. All of us in the Caribbean, indeed globally are struggling to come to terms with this crisis”.

ST. GEORGE’S, Grenada, March 1, 2009 - Political Leader of the ruling National Democratic Congress, Tillman Thomas on Sunday called on party members to urgently mount a recruitment drive aimed at reestablishing the grass root support which powered the party into office.

Speaking at the NDC’s first convention since assuming government last July, Mr. Thomas, who is also Prime Minister of Grenada, said that the party needs to actively recruit new members and formalize the once visible public support. “We need to now focus on building the party into an efficient well functioning organization,” Mr. Thomas told hundreds of supporters at the GBSS Auditorium.
